Admissions to MBA colleges are now in full swing, and students are equally excited in finding out the best B-school as per their preference. However, it becomes important for students to evaluate the MBA institutes on several parameters of placement track record, reputation of the college, infrastructure, quality of faculty and industry interaction. According to a survey done Jagranjosh.com in collaboration with Kantar TNS, students look for the following attributes while choosing an MBA college:

Image or Reputation of the Institute

This is one important parameter that students consider crucial while selecting an MBA institute. The image or reputation of the institute is built on the trust and authenticity factors. Therefore, it is mandatory for an institute to be accredited and affiliated by government organizations or any reliable authorities.  Other than this, an MBA aspirant wants his college to have quality faculty members and updated course syllabus.

Assistance from the Institute for Placement

Does the institute offer placement assistance or not? Commonly, this is the question that students ask before getting admission in any MBA college. Students want high return on Investment after completing an MBA/PGDM from a reputed MBA college. After all their hard work and investment in doing MBA, students expect the college to provide quality campus placement assistance.

Quality of Faculty

The types of faculty members are mentioned on the websites of MBA colleges, and this include core faculty, guest faculty, adjunct and visiting faculty members. Sometimes, the administrative staffs are coupled with faculty to showcase a better student-teachers ratio. All these numbers might be confusing and students are unable to check about the quality of faculty members of a respective college. In that case, students must go through the AICTE Mandatory Disclosure by the college to check the right information on the numbers and quality of faculty members in terms of experience, qualification and industry exposure. The number of permanent faculty decides the learning atmosphere of the institute.

Historic Performance of Institute in Placements

Students planning to get admission in any B-school try to find out information about the historic performance of institutes in placements. The best way to do that is by checking out the placement record of the college along-with the company profiles, sectors of recruitments, average salary, etc. All these information’s are mentioned in the college’s website. Checking the numbers is not enough as students also need to evaluate the reputation of companies visiting the campus. For instance, a student wants to do specialize in marketing, then he must try to find out about the placement track record and companies visiting to recruit marketing graduates.

Industry Interaction

Now-a-days, it’s only about gaining theoretical knowledge. Recruiters prefer those candidates who have gained real-time industry knowledge during MBA. An MBA institute must provide industry interaction sessions to prepare students for the demanding market challenges. Students who want to pursue higher education in management must make consider this factor while choosing the best MBA institute.
